My husband, Ian was diagnosed with C.O.P.D. in 2002, and to start with, managed well, giving up smoking in 2011. But over the last few years he gradually deteriorated. The last couple of month's he could hardly manage to dress himself and was on portable oxygen. Saturday he was helicoptered to hospital and died, peacefully on the Monday.
